The Carolina Student Biotechnology
Network is an IRC 501(c)3 non-profit student organization that hosts events and
provides services that allow members to explore and pursue careers in the
life science industry. We have an interdisciplinary membership comprised of
students from a breadth of graduate and professional programs such as
biomedical sciences, chemistry, law, business, and public health.
Our mission is to promote education,
career development, entrepreneurship, and industry outreach to interested
students at all regional universities. We address our mission through two
primary avenues: 1) by providing a forum for students to explore careers
outside of academic science, and 2) by creating opportunities for students
acquire valuable skills and experience outside of their respective graduate
programs.
CSBN’s objectives are as follows:
·
Expose students to potential career opportunities and to
provide the information necessary to make well-informed career decisions.
·
Facilitate communication between students from traditionally
distinct programs, as well as foster student interaction with industry
professionals.
·
Contribute to the growth and development of the regional life
science community.
·
Facilitate the development of skills essential for future
success.
We desire to
generate and maintain a mutually beneficial relationship between student
members of CSBN and the regional life science community.
