The Carolina Student Biotechnology Network is a non-profit student organization that hosts events and provides services that allow members to explore and pursue careers in the life science industry.  We strive for interdisciplinary membership by drawing students from the breadth of UNC’s graduate and professional programs including biomedical sciences, chemistry, business, law, and public health.  We represent the interests of our members to the University as well as those groups that will determine the future of the life science industry in this region.

Our mission is to promote education, career development, bioentrepreneurship, and industry outreach.  We seek to address this mission through two primary avenues: (1) exposing students to careers outside of academic science, and (2) providing opportunities for members to explore the emerging world of biology and business.

CSBN’s objectives are as follows:

  • Expose student members to potential career opportunities and to provide information necessary to make well-informed career decisions.

  • Facilitate communication between students from traditionally distinct programs, as well as foster student interaction with industry professionals

  • Enable student members to acquire skills that are essential for future success.

  • Contribute to the growth and development of the life sciences community in this region.

We desire to generate and maintain a mutually beneficial relationship between student members of CSBN and the regional biotechnology community.

The Carolina Student Biotechnology Network is a non-profit student organization promoting career development, education, entrepreneurship, and industry outreach.  Our goal is to host events and provide services that allow members to explore and pursue careers in the life science industry.  CSBN provides a forum for students to explore career opportunities, expand their knowledge of the life science industry, and develop skills necessary for success in bio-business.  We strive for an interdisciplinary membership by drawing students from the breadth of UNC's graduate and professional programs.
